Every once in a while, a young sports phenon emerges with the talent and promise of few before him. Hockey has had its fair
share of great up and coming players. 
Over the last quarter century, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemiuex and Eric Lindros were identified
as future National Hockey League (NHL) greats early on in their lives. Sidney Crosby is the most recent such hockey phenom; a player
that many believe is destined for greatness in the NHL.
Sidney has excelled at every level of organized hockey he has participated in. His hockey skills, temperament and physical stature often bring comparisons to on of the greatest hockey players ever - the great one himself, Wayne Gretzky. Sidney certainly played his part in re-juvinating the NHL as it came off an ugly labour dispute. Though he did not really get a great opportunity to play beside the great Mario Lemieux who was forced to retire due to health reasons, Sid brought a sense of excitement to Pittsburgh despite the very poor overall season played by the Penguins. The fans there certainly have a lot to look forward to in the future.
